Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
I've had some really wonderful time in God's Word today. I finished up reading through Genesis. And, it was so encouraging to read the story of Joseph's life.
Here you have this young guy, who is despised by his brothers. And, they sell him into slavery. He endures trial after trial and spends much of his early adulthood in prison, by no fault of his own. Then, because of God's perfect plan for His life, he raises him up to become second in command to Pharaoh, the Egyptian ruler. So, at the age of 30, Joseph becomes a big-time ruler in Egypt, and thereby saves Israel from Egyptian rule and persecution.
I thought, "Imagine how Joseph was feeling when he was lonely in prison.
Don't you think those days were long and hopeless. I'm sure he felt like death
was just around the corner. But, God redeemed him from a completely desperate
situation of being a slave and prisoner to make his name great."
And, the best news for you and me is that we serve the same God. When our
day-to-day living seems discouraging and lonely and hopeless, we can trust God
with the final product.
What trial are you facing today? Give it to God. Tell Him you trust Him.
Ask Him to carry you to the finish line. He wants to do that for you. In fact,
He's waiting for you to ask.
