Then he will say to
those on his left, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire
prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Matthew 25:41
During the judgment of the sheep and goats described in
Matthew 25, Jesus, the King, tells those
who have rejected Him that they will join the devil and his angels in the
eternal fire.
I know Satan hates for me to write the ending to his story.
The truth of his demise was discussed by Jesus and described by John in the
vision given him during his exile on the Isle of Patmos.
According to Revelation 20, Satan will have a final period
to wreck havoc on Earth. Eventually fire will come down and Satan will meet his
final fate. And the devil, who deceived
them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false
prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever
(Revelation 20:10 ).
God knows the end of the story, we know the end of the story
and Satan knows the end of the story. The Great Dragon will be defeated, and
Christ will reign forever and ever.
The liar, deceiver, trickster and adversary of God and man
is doomed. Hallelujah! Christ, on the cruel cross, became the victor. He won
the victory over Satan and death.
We can be victorious too. Knowing about Jesus is not enough.
Believing He is the Son of God is not enough because even the demons know that
truth. We must believe, know we are lost without Him, repent, and accept the
gift He bestowed on us through His death on the cross. That gift is eternal
life. If you declare with your mouth,
“Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised him form the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Revelation 12:10
tells us that Satan accuses us before God day and night. Christ is at the right
hand of the Father intervening for us. Can you believe that? The Son of God
takes our side against Satan. The great Deceiver can’t win. He is a lost cause. Thank You, Lord, for
standing up for us.
Ammunition for the
day: The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
Dear Father, My prayer
today is that any reader who has not accepted the free gift that Christ offers
will ask Him to come into her heart. Joy, peace, and a relationship with God
will be wrapped up in that most precious of all gifts.
