Watch Out!

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8

I have the great privilege of teaching a women's Bible Study. Last semester, we worked through a book on marriage. As we began our study time, I was shocked to find the large number of young marriages that were in complete crisis. As I talked privately with a few, I found that the evil one was camped out comfortably in their homes. And, some of these poor women hadn't even recognized him.

Dear Ones, the Lord has been regularly reminding me that we MUST stay alert where Satan is concerned. Scripture makes the point that the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

It is my opinion, on the whole, that Christ-followers enormously underestimate the enemy. We tend to take comfort in the earth and all that it has to offer, only to be assaulted when we least expect it. That's the way of the evil one. He is the most mischievous, trickster that we can imagine, just waiting to deceive and destroy us.

We MUST learn to recognize his attacks, and then to combat them with Truth. Satan is all evil, all of the time. God is all good, all of the time. That's how you can tell the difference.

When Satan is attacking you, your marriage, your children, or your family, you can overcome with the truth of God. His Word.

Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Put His Word in your life, your thoughts, your actions to stand tall when you come up against Satan's attacks. God's Word stands faithful in every situation.
