Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Lord, how can I show You more gratitude and love? I prayed.
I had gone into the guest room and closed the door for some quiet time with the Lord in prayer and reading.
Silently, my cat, Neches, pushed the door open, came in, lay across my feet, leaning into my legs.
With much patient wooing, I had domesticated this formerly feral cat and saved him from the dangers in the wild. Now he always wants to be wherever I am.
Look, My Child, that cat cannot speak a word of English, but, you know, beyond doubt, he loves you. You know because he wants to be wherever you are. It is the same with Me.
Trust Me! Lean on Me! Abide in Me!
This is how I know your gratitude and love.
As I reflect on the Lord’s response to my prayer, I have to smile. His Holy Spirit wooed me in from the dangers of sin and saved my life, too.
I love those who love Me and those who seek Me find Me (Proverbs 8:17).
Lord, thank You that a relationship with You is not futile.
