Create in me a
pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10
Are you a creative, crafting person? Someone who can make things out of fabric,
paper, paint, wood, yarn, or just about anything?
My friend, Joy, can take a stack of paper and
create the most delightfully gorgeous greeting cards, books, candy containers,
or, you-name-it out of paper, glue, and a creative gene.
Then, I have another friend, Pam, who like
myself, would rather wash a cat than be confronted with a craft challenge.
I am so glad God is not like Pam and me. He is still creatively crafting beautiful
people from repentant sinners.
When looking around, I see believers
performing marvelous, generous acts of kindness; forgiving people who have
sorely wronged them; loving the unlovely; giving their time and resources to
others; and being Jesus’ heart and hands to a needy hurting world.
It is reassuring to know that, although, my
hands are not knitting, quilting, or crocheting, God has, and will continue, to
create and craft in me His love and joy to share with others.
You and I did not make that love, we received
it, and now we can share it. Let’s craft
some LOVE today!!!!!
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and
man (Proverbs
3:3-4).
