Spirit of Courage

“When they (rulers, elders and teachers of the law) saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Acts 4:13

• Do you consider yourself courageous?
• Have you ever given the Holy Spirit an opportunity to move through you?
• Have you ever had to stand your Christian ground at your workplace, school cafeteria, with a friend or perhaps even at church?

How wonderful that we are given the power by the Holy Sprit to speak boldly and courageously about Christ and in response people may say you “have been with Jesus.”

Dear Lord,

Thank You for courageous followers like Peter and John. What an encouragement for us that it does not take a seminary degree or to be a theologian to reach people for Christ. You can take an ordinary person and give them courage to face challenges. We pray that through the Holy Spirit within us we have the ability to stand strong during opposition. We know that the world is going to get further away from Your doctrine and truths – allow us to have the Spirit of Courage. Help us to “Be on guard; stand firm in the faith, be men (women) of courage, be strong. Do everything in love.” (1 Corinthians 16: 13).

We pray that when we come in contact with people, it is clear that we belong to Jesus.
