The Resurrection

But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when Christ comes back.
1 Corinthians 15:23

Notice there is an order to the way the resurrection took place. In every part of God’s word we see a something that affects our lives. Christ began the process of being raised from the dead to show us all who believe in Him will also be raised from the dead. He did this so we can know for sure we will have life after death.

Only the Christians that believe in this truth have such an assurance. Other religions worship dead leaders, but we worship a risen Christ. There is no longer fear in death, but a hope of life everlasting.

When we believe in this truth it brings us to confession of our sins and repenting of the wrongs we have done. The Holy Spirit will begin to transform and change us. Without confession and change in behavior I have a hard time believing in a true salvation experience. This is more than a feeling but a faith in the living Lord. That will bring us to obedience to fulfill His purpose and plan for our lives.

The resurrection is all about the work of Jesus to be continued through us. In order to do that we must become more like Him. That will, of course, bring change in us as we live life for Him and no longer for ourselves.

That change shows we know we are living His will doing what He chooses for us to do. It can take us out of our comfort zones and  bring times of difficulties, trials, and even suffering. In these times we become more sanctified or transformed to the likeness of Christ and He becomes closer to us in everyway.

Be encouraged. We have victory in everything because of the resurrection of our Lord.

Thank you Jesus for preparing the way to life everlasting.

Sharon
