Fruit of the Spirit

But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23

Peace and patience I believe go together. I have found whenever I want peace in my life I have to experience patience. With God we often have to wait on Him to show us what He is doing in our lives. The peace comes by waiting and trusting Him with His timing.
Waiting is probably one of the most difficult things for us today. We have a fast paced society and want everything now. But when we have to wait for something it usually turns out better for all involved. When God is in charge He often gives us no choice but to wait and be patient. Submitting to His will then brings peace.

There is no greater peace that we can find than the peace God gives us through trusting Him and His sovereignty. The world is doing everything imaginable to find peace in a stressful world by looking in all the wrong places.
People, places, possessions, and time at the spa will not bring inner peace. It only comes from God and His gift of the Holy Spirit. It seems people everywhere are in a place of turmoil. Given  the recent Colorado massacre and reports of many people taking their own lives we know people do not have inner peace.
The next time you are dealing with a crisis or just everyday routines, be patient. Trust God, and let the Holy Spirit give you inner peace. You will find contentment and experience less stress.
Thanks you Jesus for the peace that passes all understanding.
Sharon
