Being confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6

What do you have on your “to-do” list? Can you look around your house or your office and see something waiting to be completed, perhaps more than one thing? Do you remember the ‘round tuit” token that was popular several years ago? Most of us have things that we would like to do (get around to it) but they haven’t even made it on our list yet.

Were you able to turn the letters above into “Please be patient; God is not finished with me yet”? We are great starters, but not always good finishers. The good news is that God always finishes what He starts

Have you ever watched a new building under construction? A tall fence will be often be built around the site for safety purposes, but sometimes there are peep holes. The curious (like me) can take a peek at the progress. When you see a fellow believer doing something or saying something that doesn’t seem to be like Jesus, please remember that you are seeing us through a peep hole. We are His work in progress.

I’m encouraged when I read the book of Genesis. As God finished each day of His creation, He proclaimed, It is good. That is, until He created man, and then He didn’t say It is good.  Oh, yes, He said It is very good!

Let’s cut each other some slack being confident that our God has begun a good work in us. He’s not through. If you are tempted to say “I wonder why she does that”, please feel free to use one of our East Texas sayings: “Bless her little heart; she’s a work in progress”.
