Trust in the
LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to
him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Our action word verses
today are often shared because they are rich with action words and a terrific
promise. Remembering our action word “study,” these two scriptures are powerful
ones to study and memorize.
Trust doesn’t happen
without submission. Whatever I’m trusting in God for requires that I turn loose
of it, submit it to Him. “All” means all and more: everything. What’s the
promise? God will guide us. The Message Bible reads: he’s the one who will keep you on track.
It was not in my plans to
move 300 miles to help care for my mother and my sister. I knew that it would
be challenging and require some sacrifice on my part. As I prayed, God answered
so emphatically that I had no doubt that it was His plan. What a blessing that
move has been!
I was as surprised as
anyone that the seven years with Mother and ten years with my sister confirmed
His plans for all of us. He changed my heart. Who did I think I was
anyway? I get sad when I consider how
those years might have been if I had not submitted my plan to Him. I learned a
lot about myself and about my heavenly Father.
Are you off track or on
track? Is your path straight? Are you
trusting Him? Submitting to Him? He wants to walk with you on a straight path.
He will never leave you.
Awesome God, thank You for Your faithfulness to keep us on a straight
path as we trust and submit to You.
