My grace is sufficient for you, for
my power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Losing
my Dad when I was five years old was a profoundly sad time in my life. We all
have those places of hurt and disappointment
– but we all share a common-ness in them as well: God has “good” on His
mind!
I use
the word good quite often, like, “Have
a good day!” or “Be a good dog and stay!” But do I embrace God’s point of view, that He
uses everything – even the bad – for my good?!
The
Apostle, Paul, had a constant troubling “thorn” in his life. He prayed three
times for God to remove it, but God said this to him: My grace (favor and blessing) is
sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians
12:9).
I have
found that God operates powerfully in my life every day when I acknowledge my
every need!
When I
let Him rule through my dependence and surrender, my weaknesses, hurts and
disappointments become vehicles for His
power!
Isn’t
God “good” to do it this way!
Father, every day, renew my thoughts about your goodness to me – Your
grace is enough – all I need!
Martha
