Whew! God Already Knows

He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells in Him. I thank and praise You, O God.
Daniel 2:21-23

Several months ago while replacing Christmas decorations with things out on table tops most of the year, I could not find a piece of art glass I had put in a safe place. Well, I had hidden it so well I could not find it. Weeks later it was located in a little used area of my linen closet.

That started me thinking about God and hidden things. His Word has a lot of verses regarding “hide”, “hidden”, and “hiding”. Some verses are warnings and some are promises.
Warning  But, your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2).
Promise  Thou art my hiding place and my shield (Psalms 119:114 KJV).

I know there is nothing hidden from God, not my darkest thoughts, secret sins, or shameful actions----nothing! No matter how much I camouflage them behind my church-going, good deeds, or pious talk. God knows! They are still sins and I need to confess and repent. God is always so quick to forgive and restore me to a close relationship with Him.

Are you trying to hold the lid down or the door shut on your “secret” sins? Why? God knows they are in there. He’s waiting on you.

Take that lid off, open that door and let His light shine in. Confess and repent, He wants to forgive and restore you like He has done for me. He wants to be your hiding place and shield. What are you waiting for?

Lord, thank You for forgiving and restoring us to a close relationship with You when we confess and repent of our sins.
