But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
Ever notice how a pinch of an herb brightens the flavor of vegetables?
Let’s plant two rows of the herb Thyme in our Daily Life Garden.
1st row: Thyme for The Lord Our God
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:5-7,12).
2nd row: Thyme for our families, friends, and others
First of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God (1 Timothy 5:4).
A friend loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17).
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders, make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace seasoned with salt so you may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:5-6).
Now we have planted a Garden of Daily Life that will please and bring glory to God. It will enhance our relationships with others. Your family, friends, employers, neighbors, and others in your church and community will thank God when they think of you and how you lead your daily life.
All we have to do is water our garden freely with patience and cultivate it with love and we will enjoy a bountiful harvest.
Whoever shows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously (2 Corinthians 9:6).
A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:7,9).
Thank you, Lord, that you are always growing us toward spiritual maturity.
