Exalt the Lord

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

Psalm 148: 13 & 14b

“My heart is so full. I do not even have the words humanly possible to describe the joy. I feel like my heart may burst from it.

How can I tell You thanks for all that I feel? How can I possibly express it?

All I can say is that I love you, Lord. I see Your hand on my life. I hear Your voice in my ear. I feel Your song in my heart.”

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across these words in an old journal of mine. I wrote them, but I have no idea what brought them on. “Sporadic” would describe my journaling back then so nothing around that entry sheds light on what happened.

The date on the journal entry is a year before I got married, a couple of years before I had children. I could not have been referring to either one of those.

What excited me when I found it and what excites me now as I read it again is that I have evidence from my writing that God was working in my life way back those many years ago even though I cannot remember any significant event taking place.

Obviously, God was the “significant event”. He spoke to me then as He speaks to me now. He has never left me alone. He has proven Himself in my life over and over.

I can continue to praise and exalt His name. Hallelujah!

Oh God, You are our exalted God. You are who you say You are and You always will be.
