Are You Prepared For The Storm?

“Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord’, and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck the house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
Luke 6:46-49

I like to be prepared. I like knowing that I have everything needed for the unknown situations. I am thankful that we have God’s word to help prepare us for the unknown storms. My family has been going through a storm with a small house flood that caused some minor remodeling and a tragic death in the family that caused an out of state travel. However, I am thankful that I have the foundation of God’s word to help pull me out of the storm and give me peace over my situation.

Dear Trusting God,

Thank you for being our Mighty Fortress and our Firm Foundation. Help us to remember Your truths and to hold onto your promises. We can be assured that when we cry out in desperation, longing to hear Your voice or to see Your face, we will get a glimpse of You. Help us to remember that we are never alone and that You bring all things together for Your glory. We may not understand Your ways but we can have assurance that Your ways are good. We know that there is a greater purpose for our storms, and we will come out of it more radiant than before and Christ’s name will be glorified!

In Christ Name,
Amen

Charity O
