“I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever. I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints.”
Psalm 52:8b – 9
As I watched the big yellow school bus pull out of the church parking with my nine year old inside heading of to camp, tears flooded my eyes. My baby girl was going away for the weekend for the first time without me (not counting grandparents house). All I kept thinking is, “Lord, please bring her back to me!”
I had to put my trust in Him that He would take care of my sweet girl. I had to trust that He cared for her and loved her more than I ever could. I know that the next time my daughter goes away for a weekend trip that I will be prepared knowing God is a trusting Father.
Dear Trusting Father,
We come before you asking that during our time of doubt and insecurity, You comfort us even more. Help us during our unbelief and our lack of trust. I am thankful that through our trials we can trust in You. I pray we come to You trusting in your Word, knowing it is God breathed and your promises are never broken. We can hold on to the assurance that You know what the days ahead are like, how each month will end…and year after year there are no surprises. I pray that we learn to see how much we are loved and that even in our waiting Your love is still unfailing. There is great assurance that Your love will never let us down. We may never understand the reason for the waiting, this side of heaven, however we can see glimpses of Your glory unfolding and that gives us great hope!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
Charity O
