He
said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all
creation. Whoever believes and is
baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:15-16
“Can you hear me now?” “Can you hear me now?” “How about this? Can you hear me now?”
This past summer our cell
phone connections were pretty patchy, at best, in our little mountain
town. We looked like cartoon characters
running around seeking the errant cell tower signals. It was real-life fodder for a TV commercial.
In our Christian life we are
to speak up. Our Christ-given mission is
to be an influence. We are to influence
others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
There are so many ways we
can have a positive influence right where God has placed us. We can speak from our own experiences. In 2 Corinthians 11:25 Paul told of some of
his hardships. We can speak for our
oppressed, downtrodden fellowman. We can
speak for what is best not just for what is good. We can speak against the majority when the
majority is wrong. We can speak for the
future. But we must always speak in
LOVE.
Our culture seems sicker and
sicker with each passing day. The
disease it suffers is separation from God. Sins are the symptoms of
separation from God. As Christians, we
don’t have to fight the symptoms we have to tell about the CURE. The cure is the Gospel of needing Jesus.
Suppose I have discovered
the cure for all types of cancer known to man and am keeping it a secret from
everyone. You would rightly think I
should be forced to share with mankind this wonderful good news.
As Christians, we
have experienced the cure for separation from God. Why are we so reluctant to share the Good
News?
Open my mouth, Lord, with gentle sharing of the Good
News of Jesus Christ, our CURE for separation from You. Amen
Claudia Jackson
