But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
Gardeners look forward to that initial home-grown green salad. They almost drool at the sight of those first lettuce leaves pushing through the soil.
Today we are planting 4 rows of lettuce.
1st row Lettuce: Be faithful
A faithful man will be richly blessed (Proverbs 28:20).
2nd row Lettuce: Be kind
Make sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else (1 Thessalonians 5:15).
3rd row Lettuce: Be patient
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love (Ephesians 4:2).
4th row Lettuce: Really love one another
Above all, love each other deeply, because loves covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).
Think how much we would savor our relationships if we mixed these “lettuces” liberally in them. So, let us cultivate a larger crop of “lettuce”.
A man reaps what he sows. Let us do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:7,9).
Lord, grow us to greater spiritual maturity.
